Menjangan Island is
a small island, located 5 miles to the Northwest of the island of Bali and is part of
the Indonesian
archipelago. "Menjangan" in Indonesian means "Deer". The
name was given by the local population, a herd of wild deer swam to the island
each spring and is only about 1.2 miles.

dive sites on Bali since the late 1970s.

extensive coral reefs, sea conditions calm and mostly predictable, and

(Taman Nasional Bali Barat).
The island
is an important part of the West Bali National Park, the nearest large town is
Singaraja. The nearest airport is Kolonel Wisnu
(about 8 miles from the island).
