Ubud has become a "royal town" for over a hundred years. Princes, who hold "Tjokorda" still live in a traditional castle, which is called the "Puri". Keep in mind, that every place called "Puri" is not a royal palace. Also keep in mind that no one in the Ubud palace, but many, most of them being around the main street near the market crosses Ubud.
