The Bay itself has a pleasant white sand beach and is very
safe for swimming. Three groups of grilled seafood restaurants on the beach are
a major tourist draw in the evenings, as it is a truly amazing sunset.
Jimbaran has an increasing number of rather chic shops but
there is little or no night life here. It has the advantage of being a little
closer to Kuta and Seminyak and cultural highlights Central Bali

with Nusa Dua and Uluwatu to the southeast to the southwest.

minutes from Sanur,

• Beach, Jimbaran Bay which is bounded by one of the best
beaches in Bali. The sand is fine and white, and the calm waters make it very
suitable for swimming, children and adults alike. Southern end of the beach
near the Four Seasons Resort is the quietest but the whole stretch is very
pleasant.
• Sunset, Arrived around 05:00, sitting at one of the
restaurants located on the beach, order food & drink, and enjoy a romantic
sunset while waiting for your order. Sunset at Jimbaran is very beautiful.
• Jimbaran fish market, a traditional fish market is located
at the northern end of the bay right on the waterfront at the junction with
Jalan Tukad Ayung. The catch comes in every morning here and customers include
most of the Bali dining restaurant fine. All kinds of fish and shellfish
available. Best to visit between 6:00 to 9:00.
• Town Jimbaran. Balineese Jimbaran is a typical small
community with many small streets and alleys (gang) that makes a perfect
backdrop for a walk. Just a walk in Jimbaran is an adventure and the locals are
smiling and friendly. The road along Jalan Uluwatu beach and make a good
orientation point. Follow this and take a little different path that connects
them back and forth.

Seafood Lunch and Dinner Eating seafood on the
beach in Jimbaran is a quintessential part of the schedule when many visitors
come to Bali.
Jimbaran Bay is home to about fifty grilled seafood
restaurants in three different groups, all set along the coast. Three sections
Muaya (in the very south), Kedonganan (in the middle) and Kelan (north from the
fish market). Each restaurant is much of a muchness and groupings, the most
southerly closest to the Four Seasons is the most popular these days.
The table was set right on the sand and if you sit at the
lowest tables at high tide, you can even get your feet wet. Cool ocean breezes,
beautiful sunsets and the entire area is lit by oil torches after dark.
Restaurants that serve essentially the same menu with one
basic dining format:
• Flame broiled (grilled) seafood
with your own choice of various kinds of fish, crabs, squid, shrimp, lobster
and other shellfish
• local green vegetables steamed with garlic
• rice or French fries
• local spicy sauce
Simply go to the seafood tanks and choose the amount and
type of seafood you want to eat, pay by weight and the baked product there and
then. You also have the option to order from the menu but it is not like
choosing your own seafood. It is also advisable to choose for themselves to
avoid unhealthy fish and crustaceans chosen for you. All restaurant also offers
set menus for couples and all freshly caught as Jimbaran is still a functioning
fishing village. If you want to drink wine, bring it with you and pay a nominal
corkage fee.
The combination of atmosphere and good food make a memorable
and enjoyable place to spend the night. And Nightlife is limited in Jimbaran,
and most places close after 11.
• Surfing, There are some good surf breaks from the airport
the most easily accessed from Jimbaran Bay. It is too far to paddle, but easy
to rent a boat from the beach in the middle of the bay area or close to the
fish market. When the waves are rolling in here is very good but can be a
little unreliable.
• Swimming, this is a large bay to swim with the safest
possible water throughout Bali. You will find lots of local children came to
the beach to swim at night - a sure sign that the water is safe.
